This will give the KOD a chance to see if the speaker has any special needs and is a good time to verify information about the speaker so they can make a proper introduction. ANNOUNCEMENTS: Keith – Fred received an award from the K Kids at Knight Academy Bill – The Auto Rally netted approximately $4,000. He will pass the financial aid sign up sheet for the family in need. Joe Ryan and the speaker Sgt. JP Monahan. Sgt. Monahan is now a local recruiter for the USMC. He has recently retuned from Iraq where he saw combat with the Combined Action Platoon. They are the military equivalent of calling 911 because they are called to go into the extremely dangerous situations. Sgt Monahan recounted numerous interesting stories of his war experience. He made the point that the good deeds the military is doing in Iraq don’t get into the news papers. Things such as building 6 schools and distributing food to the Iraqi people. Sgt. Monahan suggested that if we wanted to do something for the troops, we could “Adopt A Marine”.
